Online Honor Classes

citizen99 writes "TPS has online courses for students struggling and the ratio of teacher per student is extremely high therefore making that arrangement cost effective. The district also charges access fees to participate in these classes. TPS should offer online courses for those students qualifying for honors courses. This would raise the student teacher ratio and would save operational dollars while increasing the opportunities for students to participate in honors courses. It would also follow the path by most colleges that offer online courses and prepare students for that environment which requires discipline and self guidance for honor students. Operational savings is unknown at this point until further investigation of the cost of honors classes TPS already provides can be identified. "
